My "AHA!" Moment (From Travels)

Hello! I thought this would be SP related!

, I simply love social studies. In The Suitcase Project, you might remember me blabbering about KT's similarity to Ancient Egypt.
Well, I'm back again with my insert on Dragonspyre! I expect this to be a long post, so sit back and enjoy the show!
(Note: Uhh...I'm only two weeks into the Ancient Greece unit, I'll give this a shot..)

Like I said in the note, I think that DS is very Greek. For instance (ahem); the Athenium. Athen is highlighted, because the first thing I would think of for Athen would be Athens, the capital of modern-day Greece, and the most influential Polis in Ancient Greek history. Athenium would point me straight to Athenian, meaning belonging to or pertaining to Athens, in my own words.
Also, the word 'Basilica' is derived from Greek, meaning (Google definitions)

  1. "A large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse, used in ancient Rome as a court of law or for public..."
Hmm...do I see the word 'Rome' in there? I'll save it for next unit..
Also, the Necropolis sounds like Acropolis, which was the religious center of Athens, the site of Parthenon

I also saw a few nice columns, this one in the Athenium.

Definitely Corinthian, with fluted column and scroll-top. Sorry about my panther getting in the way..

Also, when you were in the vaults of The Grand Chasm, did you see a sign on the top of the jail cells? It said DS Pyre. I remembered Dragons pyre, and Dragon spyre. So, in short, to keep it generally family-friendly, a pyre is a place where (in Ancient Greece) one would be killed, as in result to a crime. A spire is the conical top of a building, associated with a church.
So either:
Ignore my mount. The dragon at the top could be the
spyre of DS...
OR, perhaps dragons have suffered in this world, which is what I'm thinking, it'll require more research, which I'm currently not up for.
Also, with the Necropolis. Necropolis means a graveyard or cemetery, but to me it sounds like Acropolis, which was the religious center of Athens, and the site of Parthenon.
Parthenon!

As of 2/19, I have officially lost my feeling for this. So, I'll leave you with one last pic.

"Now presenting, THE SUITCASE PROJECT!" Twitter!

Hello all ye wizards, I am real excited, for TSP has its very own Twitter, made by Talon Nightshade! I am very excited, as I also made my first visit to Twitter today just to view its page. (Before you make any comments on that, I'm not into social networking like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc.)
I have put up the feed under the follower list, which has gained a new member, thank you Swordroll!
Also, I have a few side pics for DS, though I didn't put them up. Today, I helped another super-quester (Tyler Rubyweaver, as depicted in the DS Suitcase) through most of The Great/Grand (aack) Spyre, to the point where I actually SAW Malistaire Drake. I didn't have time to confront him, I'll save it for my own adventures.
This is the spot where I left off.

Again, but I will use these later, so I thought that I should post them

Next pic is not like these

Now THAT, my friends, is a giant hand..

(see top left corner)
I have officially started stalking Malistaire Drake.
(Hey, that would be a great alternate storyline! I might post it on Travels..
I'd like to hear back from you guys about that)

Dragonspyre, check!

Posted straight from the page

By D. Soultamer

Hello again. I have not completed this world, and so I might be missing a few points.
Beware the circled part, quest helper will not be so helpful...
See the minion portion
I couldn't find TSP banner on my documents, so here is
a pic of me with my questing buddy Tyler, who is currently a couple areas
ahead of me, though he is willing to help.
  • In this suitcase, I found street sense not to be as important as in say, the Marleybone one. I found DS easy to traverse because of the sidewalks that enemies respect, and that they are often few and somewhat far apart, making the streets easy to cross. I do ask though, that you keep using your map, and quest helper. Some people enjoy compass, feel free to use it by pressing the 'n' key to turn it on and off.

  • This world is chock full of gauntlets, like MS was full of dungeons. Gaunlets, as a refresher, are special dungeons that you honestly thought you wouldn't see again after Golem Tower and/or didn't notice elsewhere. You cannot port into and out of gauntlets, making them tricky, as you have to survive on life spells and potion bottles for health/mana. The gauntlets I have encountered (for the most part) were long towers (not like Big Ben,  which is a regular dungeon)  Questing buddies are useful in this area, they won't mind running through a tower, because it is for their own benefit too. You should have a good strategy, as in who should be running in first, who would deal the major damage, etc. When I quest with Paige Daisypetal, we switch off when dealing the damage. When I'm dealing it, she blades and gives me pips, as well as Helping Hands when needed. When she is, I cast a minion and shield constantly, as well as the  occasional debuff.
  • As for the minion (credit to Jason Goldriver for telling me the usefulness), they can be as helpful as another wizard, or sometimes, not as helpful. I found that my Ice minion likes to take the enemy in the sigil farthest to the left, working its way down. I try to blade myself when using this minion, as to not disturb its constant traps, especially when a boss takes the first sigil. Really, I prefer to let my minion die as it takes damage, let it shield itself, though some like to heal their minions, if that is possible for them (which it usually isn't for me).  Keep one less than the max amount of minions that you can have in your deck (for me it's 3 or 4) and (for myth, ice, life, and possibly balance wizards) don't get your minion mixed up with your actual spell.
  • Have a plan on what you're going to do! I say to keep your level in mind and work on the school quests first, as they will help you deal damage, protect from it, etc. If you're a crafter, pack on about 40 black lotuses for the first crafting quest. (this fact will be updated as I craft more) If you like sidequesting, make sure you don't get fed up with things too easily, or have a short attention span, whether or not you'll admit it. Right now, I prefer to stick to the main storyline, and go back to the sidequests if I'm waiting for a questing buddy to catch up. Sidequests also help me gain the extra 500 exp. to wrap up my level.
  • Always remember that you are welcome to contribute to, or even join the Suitcase Project, all ideas are taken into account, you will get credit.
  • This case will be updated as I move along.

Celestia!

Hey Guys! Talon here with the basic suitcase for Celestia! I will be adding on to this as soon as inspiration hits me.
1. your level 48 spells, they come in real handy on taking on mobs, as they are all AOE(area of affect).
2. A LOT  of gold, the gear is VERY expensive
3. Crowns or Membership
4. a pet that gives a useful talent, spritely pets are really good in Celestia.
5. Some Training points to train astral spells, though every 2 levels from 50- 60 you get a free training point by getting a quest from Odgen Peake In the Celestia Base Camp.. That means you get 5 training points, but that is only good for maybe one school. I would use some of your other training points to learn other astral spells, which combined to a great job.
6. Patience, Celestia Bosses are very hard, as they cheat, and can be very time consuming. Just stay calm and try again with a different deck, you'll eventually get the slip on them :P.
7. Having a Life and Storm for Trial of Spheres in my experience makes it go faster.
8. Gargantuan TC if you haven't learned it yet, they are really helpful.
9. A mount, Some of the curves are hard to make without getting caught, lol, so have some type of fast transportation.
10. Some very powerful friends :P
11. Be ready for some really bad collecting quests, but not as bad as Zafaria....
12. This one is of utmost importance, TURN ON QUEST HELPER! I got lost many times in the Crustacean empire, and that was with quest helper! When you get lost, try to find a general landmark on the map. When all else fails, go back to Base Camp.

Odgen Peake, he doesn't show up on the map btw.

level 48 spells! (Fire dragon is just an example)
Do not have gold like me wizards :P
Astral Spells are a NEED! (and moon spells are just an example)
The map for Crustecean empire is confusing :P I couldn't find out the way from where the green arrow is to Senator Xanthus for half a week :P
Don't even know where the green arrow went now lol.

Well that's it for now, though more is coming your way soon!

Updates, and a resolution

I'm hoping to make this blog run again. It's my resolution, one that I might actually keep.
As of today:
  • I have completed MS, will start DS suitcase and work on MS
  • Took screenshot, might make it better later on, but after the suitcases get done
  • Fixed MS, MB, and WS cases for unknown facts, enforcing of crowns items (all errors were by me) and one grammar error.
  • Will put this up on Travels' page as an active link.
  • Will post Swordroll's helpful strategy to Cyrus, my strategy to soloing storm bosses in MS (bear with me)
  • Thanks to the wonderful crew!! To the readers: Expect more guides and some gardening/PvP/pets/etc guides in the future!

Hey Guys!

Hey guys! My name is Talon Nightshade. Destiny let me become a contributor for this blog, which is super awesome! I have a blog called A Pyromancers Say where I usually post. Anyways, I am glad to contribute to this project.
Stay tuned for more updates!

SAVE THE SUITCASE PROJECT

Listen up, folks.

Being the rather impatient wizard I am, I really need to continue questing in order to gather the desired information for this project.
On the other hand, I am currently working on another blog, two novels, editing Paige D's blog, AND taking care of all my IRL troubles. In a nutshell, I'm a very busy person.
Also, being a lower level wizard, I have a hard time supplying the information that keeps the Project running. I was thinking of starting up a different project after I hit a level cap. I proposed this idea on Travels, and I got one more person helping (thank you, you know who you are), which made me rethink this idea.
Since I'm stuck in the middle, I'm asking YOU. Save the suitcase, or sell it, buy a nice duffel bag, or a backpack instead?
